Atlantic Terminal

Located on the Atlantic Coast of the Republic of Panama, specifically in “La Laguna de Chiriquí” located in the province of Bocas del Toro.

Pacific Terminal

Located on the Pacific Coast of the Republic of Panama, approximately 3.5 miles south of the community of Puerto Armuelles, Chiriquí province.

Trans-isthmian Pipeline

Through the trans-isthmian pipeline, we transport oil from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast of Panama.

General Cargo Dock

Located in the Chiriquí Lagoon, Bocas del Toro Province, on the Atlantic Coast of the Republic of Panama. 

The Company

The Petroterminal de Panama Trans-isthmian Pipeline is 130 km long and it transports approximately 7 million barrels of crude per month from the Atlantic Terminal, located in Chiriquí Grande on the Atlantic Ocean, to the Pacific Terminal, located in Puerto Armuelles in the Pacific Ocean. Hundreds of oil tankers discharge millions of crude barrels a year to take it to markets in Asia and the east coast of the American continent.

The world’s oil channel is more than just two terminals and an oil pipeline, it is a professional team of Panamanians, passionate about what they do, with a persevering heart and spirit, thanks to the oil people of Panama, Petroterminal has been making history in the communities where we operate.

The beginnings of Petroterminal de Panamá (PTP) date back to the late 1970s, when the Alaskan oil production began with large volumes, and there was a need to transport the surplus to the east coast of the United States of America in “ Very Large Crude Carrier ”(VLCC), which could not transit through the Panama Canal.
