Petroterminal strengthens sports and community integration in Chiriqui

Committed to promoting sustainable development in the communities where it operates, Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A. continues to promote spaces that foster integration, health, and education through sports.

During October, the company carried out two important initiatives to benefit the community of Puerto Armuelles: the renovation of the San José synthetic soccer field and sponsorship of the Chiriquí Occidente Provincial Baseball League, as part of the Ciudad de las Arenas Program.

The renovation of the San José field included the installation of 920 m² of Xtreme 50 – FIFA QUALITY synthetic turf, the construction of bleachers, the repair of the perimeter fence, the painting of sidewalks and goalposts, and the construction of a fully equipped bathroom, with an investment of B/.60,069.50. This intervention will benefit more than 3,000 people a year, providing a safe, inclusive, and sustainable space for sports and family gatherings.

Meanwhile, sponsorship of the Chiriquí Occidente Provincial Baseball League allocated B/.5,000.00 to cover food, sports equipment, transportation, and training support for more than 200 children and young people in the Under-10 and Youth categories. In Panama, baseball is more than a sport: it is a symbol of national identity and a way to bridge gaps of inequality, especially in rural areas. Both actions reflect Petroterminal commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility guidelines, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, particularly in community development, education, and well-being, promoting opportunities that strengthen the social fabric, encourage healthy lifestyles, and foster values such as discipline, cooperation, and leadership in the younger generations.
