PTP promotes collaborative learning in robotics with the “Kids Teaching Kids” program.
In August 2025, Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A. presented the first stage of the program “Children teaching children, green light for the future,” an innovative initiative developed at the Baco Educational Center in Puerto Armuelles, Barú District.
The project aims to train students in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) subjects with a focus on educational robotics. Participants not only acquire new knowledge but also become facilitators who can replicate their learning in other schools in the region.
With an investment of B/.2,173.56, students were provided with learning equipment and kits:
- 16 mechanical programming kits.
- 16 6-in-1 solar kits.
- 16 Smartbot kits.
- 16 12-in-1 solar and hydraulic kits.
These resources will enable students to develop practical robotics projects, strengthening skills such as logical thinking, creativity, and problem solving.
Thanks to this investment, 75 children, 15 teachers, and 15 student facilitators from the Baco Educational Center have been trained to bring this knowledge to five educational centers: San Vicente Bilingüe, Paso Canoas Arriba, Monte Verde, Brisas del Mar, and Los Ángeles.
The program includes a technology fair in October, where students will present robotics projects, consolidating a collaborative teaching model that promotes innovation from an early age.
With this effort, PTP reaffirms its commitment to quality education, technological innovation, and the creation of opportunities for new generations, contributing to closing technological gaps and the sustainable development of the country.
